NOTES FROM THE ISM ARCHIVIST:
Like a few ASMers in this section, "Dark Rider" is a bit of a mystery to us. Existing in The Guardian's archives as a name on a folder containing nothing but a text file, we can reasonably conclude that he was a member of the NSE--but in what capacity, we cannot say, as all that remains of his ASM life exists as flame posts by angry Moonies recorded in said guestbook text file. Using a bit of forensic surfing, we've been able to determine a bit more about him as a person...if not as an ASMer.
Here are some facts as we know them:
- "Dark Rider" is presumed to be the ASM codename of someone named "Josh."
- "Josh" was also known as "Raichu" (indeed, the guestbook owner is named "Raichu" in the aforementioned text file) and "Night Rider" (per certain guestbook posts).
- He owned and operated a Pokemon fan site at http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Subway/3671/JPP.html, which had an alternate domain at http://pokemon.sacone.com/.
- His Pokemon site had seemingly nothing to do ASM (at least, in the versions we were able to pull from Wayback Machine).
- The text file in The Guardian's archives contains posts from the guestbook for his Pokemon site.
- Prolific NSE members such as Lion Jeter and The Guardian posted their support in his guestbook, leading to the belief that he was associated with the NSE as well.
- Guestbook posts from one or two irate Moonies indicate that whatever he did as an ASMer was enough to get their attention and draw their fire at his (seemingly personal, non-ASM) Pokemon site.
And that's all we know about Dark Rider, aka Josh, aka Raichu. What we have for the historical record, then, are the aforementioned guestbook posts (only those related to ASM--for the entire record, please see our dedicated Guestbook section in the Library) and a hybrid reconstruction of his Pokemon website. Thanks to Wayback Machine and The Guardian for these artifacts.
